The trail is very smooth, just perfect for a relaxing walk in nature. From the Păltiniş cable chair station, go up to the Onceşti Summit (the climb is quite strenuous so if you wish to save time you may take the cable chair). From the Onceşti Summit the trail descends to the Onceşti Glade - in spring, it turns into a wonderful garden of crocuses and snow drops.
From here, the trail continues through a dense spruce forest (an oasis of freshness in hot summers) to the Muncel forestry hut then to the Găujoara Glade. Take a break in the Găujoara Glade, the panoramic view of the Păltiniş is fabulous! From the glade, go down through the fir tree forest, past the Dorul Clujului spring down to Păltiniş.
Probably many wonder why the spring is called “Dorul Clujului” (Longing for Cluj). The story takes us 70 years back to 1942… Then, students from the University of Cluj orphaned by the Vienna Dictate found shelter at their colleagues from the Păltiniş Mountain Dorm. Withdrawn in Păltiniş, they most definitely missed their home town of Cluj, which they had to flee
