Although this is a day-long trail, it will definitely be one to remember. It sets out from the Păltiniş mountain resort and it goes along the Găujoara Glade which offers a splendid view of the Păltiniş resort and of the Bătrâna Saddle, near the sheepfold with the same name; from here the climbing gets more difficult because we are getting closer to the Rozdeşti and Niculeşti Summits, gentle summits of a bit over 2000 m.
If you are exhausted, if the sky is threatened by fierce dark clouds or if the evening is coming you may camp at the Cânaia Refuge. The next day, after a good night’s rest and with new forces you may resume your climb to the Cindrel peak; from the Cânaia refuge to the summit you still have about one and a half hours to go. The effort was fully worth it: the Cindrel Mountain Lakes and Cindrel Summit reserve is spectacular - all around you may see the peaks of the other surrounding mountains. On the route you may quench your thirst with cold spring water and taste delicious berries (blueberries and raspberries). In May, Cindrel is covered with an immense pink carpet of Rhododendron kotschyi.
