The route starts from Cisnădie (Băilor street, to be more precise) which is a quaint Saxon town guarded in the centre by an imposing fortified church. The trail is 30.5 km long and it is divided in 6 sections with an altitude difference of 874 m. It is a rather difficult route as it climbs up to the Măgura Summit at over 1300 m of altitude, but once you get there you will agree that it was worth every effort.
If through Cisnădie the route is light, once you get to the second section, after crossing the Tocile stream, the path becomes narrower and the uphill slope grows steeper. After 3 km, the trail exits the forest to the alpine clearing, where it turns left to the south, through the clearing. This is where the third section begins, with an even steeper 200 m slope up to the point where the path becomes visible again, near a cluster of birch trees. Follow the path eastward.
After approximately 500 m the path reaches the main peak of the Cindrel Mountains and it joins the blue dot tourist trail to the Măgura Summit. Once on the summit, take some time to enjoy the surrounding view and the peaceful nature.
Resume your ride rested and with new strengths. From the top you continue with a downhill section of approximately 1 km which is steeper and needs very good skills and a lot of attention.
In Curmătura Măgurii, the descending slope suddenly gets gentler and the route continues peacefully, arriving to a drinking water spring. Here the tourist trail marked with a blue triangle and a red line turns left and 200 m further it reaches the Rosengarten Refuge.
The route continues to the Prislop hamlet; from there to Cisnădioara you have a 2 km ride through grasslands and forests. One arrived in Cisnădioara, put your bikes aside and visit the citadel on the hill and the evangelical church from the centre. From Cisnădioara you have 2 km of asphalt road to Cisnădie.
You may also choose to cover the route the other way around. Also, the route may start or end in the centre of Cisnădioara.
