Each year in October Moşna celebrates the Cabbage Festival as cabbage is sort of a “local brand”.
It is a well-known fact that the cabbage is a nutritious, healthy vegetable very rich in vitamins. In autumn, it is consumed fresh either raw or prepared in different manners. However in winter, the Transylvanians love pickled cabbage. Used in cabbage meat rolls, sautéed with a sturdy piece of pork chop or cut into salads with a bit of paprika it is simply delicious.
To those who are counting their calories we recommend a cabbage broth; it is very easy to digest and very helpful when on a diet.
As soon as you taste the “Moşna” cabbage you will agree that it is much tastier than its rival, the already famous “Brussels cabbage” as we call it in Romanian!
