The building of the church started in 1776 but two years later the locals went out of money and they abandoned the works. However, one of those days there was a heavy rain which brought down the village stream, besides branches and rocks, also a cask full of… golden coins. Filled with joy, the locals took the money, they erected the church steeple and finished its paintings. Since then the small stream crossing the village has been named The Tower Stream.
A distinctive element of the church is the representation of Jesus with three faces on the same figure, surrounded by the symbols of the twelve zodiac signs.
