In 2009, on the anniversary of one century since the discovery of natural gas in Romania, the Natural Gas Documentation and Information Centre was set up at Mediaş. This centre promotes the natural gas sector by organising related exhibitions and scientific events. The exhibitions are displayed in a modern manner, with the use of audio and video systems.
The centres’ thematic exhibition includes:
- A collection of parts, models, documents, patents and awards which certify the importance of the discovery of natural gas in Romania;
- A collection of minerals encompassing a wide range of rocks.
