The Old Mill, Hosman

It has been operational since the early 20^th century and today it represents a true image of Hosman as it used to be. The Old Mill complex comprises the mill, a bakery, a forgery, a “cultural shed” and a local produce store.

The mill which was built in the 1920s has a simple corn milling circuit and a complete wheat milling circuit. The bakery is traditional with a wood-fired oven. Luiza, the baker-lady from the Old Mill will welcome you with various specialties prepared after traditional recipes: bread with cereals, potatoes bread or delicious pies.

Horse-drawn carriages have remained a common transportation means in Hosman and horses are still being shoed at the Old Mill forgery.

Because Hosman often houses various cultural events, the yard of the Old Mill was also provided with a “cultural shed” where they organise various events and behind the shed lies an old apple orchard.

The Old Mill also has a store facing the main street. As soon as you enter, the flavours of the freshly baked delicacies will subjugate you.

In summer, the Old Mill awaits its young visitors with activities, a huge garden to explore and tasty pies.
