The ethnographical collection from Alţâna has over 1000 objects collected in 12 years from 25 settlements on the Hârtibaci Valley. It brings together cultural assets of the Romanian, Saxon, Hungarian and Roma ethnic groups.
The collection includes furniture items, traditional costumes, folk technique and arts, ceramics and religious objects and it grows continually through purchases and donations.
This is intended as a living museum which also hosts various specific activities: education, research, craftsmanship, tourism, recreation
