The exhibition is dedicated to the diplomat Vasile Stoica, born in Avrig, near Sibiu. Diplomat, speaker of 14 foreign languages, Vasile Stoica is a globe trotter, he used to speak at conferences in the United States having little money, in 60 Romanian centers and managed to establish the National League of American Romanians. In March 1917, in Romania, a fragmented country with a part of the Parliament in Odesa, with much of the diplomacy in St. Petersburg, with the few remaining in Iaşi, King Ferdinand entrusted Vasile Stoica through Ionel Bratianu, the mission to go to the United States to do pro-Romanian propaganda. He received this mission together with Father Lucacius and Ion Moţa, two priests, one Orthodox and one Greek Catholic, they were associated partners and lived the adventure of their lives. They passed through Russia to Vladivostock, stayed for a few days in Japan, then arrived in Washington in the summer of 1917. He was the first messenger of the ideals that the Romanian government did not cease to set and propose to the American contemporary world in that extremely difficult year, that summer which would be our victorious summer with the battles of Oituz, Mărăşeşti, Mărăşti.
